Italia Mia, Hong Kong’s Italian Art and Culture Festival, is back with different culinary programs. Filled in culturally enlightening activities, where gastronomy and artistry history converge, for three months.

Originally premiered in 2019, this festival is a non-profit collaboration. This collab is between the Italian Consulate General and the Italian Cultural Institute in Hong Kong. This series of gourmet events honor the diversity and richness of Italian fare. Usually, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Macau financially supports Italia Mia.

Now in its third year, this festival will be presenting over 40 events. Ranging from film to theatrical performances, opera to creative arts, gourmet dining to wine tastings, design to culinary lessons.

ITALIA MIA Programs

Culinary customs are inextricably linked to Italian culture. Italian food never disappoints the palate with its imaginative use of farm-to-table products. Whether it’s fresh vegetation, a variety of cheeses and wines, or sit-down dinners. Italia Mia is delighted to present a selection of seasonal Italian cuisine and experiences to you:

  • Firstly, Vino Condiviso 2021 — This will transport you on a tour across Campania and Basilicata’s finest wines. In a sit-down tasting style, experience authentic regional foods and wines from these two areas. Above all, all dishes and wines are hand-picked by our staff of VINITALY Italian Wine Ambassadors.
  • Secondly, the Dinner with Dante is a collab between the Dante Alighieri Society and the Italian Academy of Cuisine. They have teamed up to create a gastronomic adventure that follows Dante Alighieri, the great poet. During the evening, participants can have a look at some of Dante’s most famous Italian towns. Displaying where he lived, worked, traveled, and wrote.
  • Thirdly, Knights of Alba Gala dinner is the annual White Truffle Gala Dinner. This will be hosted by the 76th Chapter of the Hong Kong Delegation of the ‘Order of the Knights of the Truffle and Wines of Alba’. Visitors will be able to sample classic Piedmont wines. As well as the “diamonds of the table,” the renowned Alba White Truffles.

Exclusive Event

Lastly and most importantly, the ICC  is happy to announce “Cooking Class: The Art of Pizza Making”. This unique event, a part of the ITALIA MIA Festival, will be taking place on November 22nd. Attendees will study and explore several distinct types of Italian pizzas. For instance, learning about the individual components, the entire process, and culinary methods behind a pizza. Chef Angelo d’Ambrosio of Italy will demonstrate how to make a specific style of pizza. So you may emulate at one of the finest pizzas at the comfort of your own home. However, this is an exclusive activity of the festival, as only twelve participants may have this chance. Using real Italian produce to enjoy a delicious meal that pays homage to the heritage of Italy.

ITALIA GastronomoMIA

Moreover, ITALIA GastronoMIA is an endeavor of the ITALIA MIA Festival. Debuting for the first time in 2021 in support of the “World Week of Italian Cuisine”. This coming November, it intends to boost real Italian dining establishments and merchants in Hong Kong and Macau. Additionally, create a new brand to highlight Italian fine cuisine and allow customers to take advantage of special deals.
